Mascara

About a month ago, while I was visiting family in Houston and Jacob was at home studying for law school finals, I went out on a date with my sister Jennifer. We got yummy drinks from Starbucks and then spent an hour browsing Wal-mart for new make-up.

Ironically enough, when I got home that night, Halle was laying on the couch with the rest of my PREVIOUS bottle of mascara on her face. She's a sneaky little thing sometimes and was able to hide from G-Mere long enough to do some creative make-up artistry while no one was looking. Needless to say, a bathtub that night was essential, but she wasn't very happy about losing her new look. She said, "Look at me, mommy! Hah-ee so Prettyyyy! I lub it."

On that same trip (possibly that same night), Halle climbed up onto the bed next to Jennifer and copied every motion/pose Jennifer made. Nothing escapes her notice. She is my little sponge soaking up knowledge and understanding. And she loves her family. Which I love.

And yes, this really happened. No staging. No pleading.
William was reading a book on the couch after school, so Halle also found a book and joined him.
She sat contentedly for several minutes just reading in silence next to her favorite uncle.

William said: "That Halle is a real make-up artist!"

I thought her posing with Jennifer was REAL cute.
