Happy Halloween!

Tonight we went Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood. Our good friends (the Kemps) came along, and we packed up our jogger strollers with steaming thermoses of hot chocolate and apple cider. Although Halle went without a nap (again) this afternoon, her adrenaline and a healthy dose of sugar kept her going as we walked from house to house. Halle was not afraid to grab a whole handful of candy at each stop, and in the beginning she practically ran (with Daddy) to each new home. She'd say, "Cue me, Wick-o-weet! Cue me, Wick-o-weet!" each time and step right up to grab her share. Emily on the other hand was much more polite and well mannered. I guess I need to coach Halle a little better on Halloween etiquette next year.

Either way, this mouse and kitty cat were definitely the cutest pair on the block!

And by 7:45 they were both crashed out in the strollers, strung out on tootsie pops and dum-dums. I think Halle was drooling at one point because when we were finished she complained about being "sticky". Upon further investigation, we discovered that her hair was literally stuck to the sides of her neck and had dried that way. She couldn't move her head to the right or to the left because her hair had crusted in place. EWWWW. Needless to say, she hopped right in the bath as soon as we got home.

But the weather was gorgeous, the neighborhood was busy (but not swarming), our beverages were perfectly hot (but not scalding), and the kids had a BLAST. It's funny to me that toddlers seem to prefer MnM's and suckers while the adults raid all of the chocolate. At least everyone is happy.

Happy Halloween Everyone!
I'm sad that October is over, but we're definitely looking forward to the unofficial National Championship game this weekend. (Geaux Tigers!)

Major Dittos to Jeff's comment! She is looking so grown-up. Both of those little girls know how to pose for photos, too. I love the knocking-on-the-door shot. She is just. SO. cute.

I will third what they said! Halle's so adorable, and I love watching her and Emily play and be little girls together. Glad to see she had so much fun on the second biggest day of the year for a kid, and also that y'all had as much fun as the girls did. She is just. SO. Cute.

I love the costumes and just love how cute they are together! You and the Kemps can't ever move apart so they can stay best friends forever.
